Assessment
After you apply and are offered a place, we assess your reading, tajwīd, memorisation and revision. Your teacher then gives you a starting level, weekly targets and an indicative date for completing ḥifẓ.

Foundations
Your starting point is welcome here. Learn to read with care, build confidence with the letters and sounds, and develop a meaningful relationship with the Qur’an.

Bring precision and beauty to your recitation. Study Tuḥfat al-Aṭfāl and Al-Jazariyyah progressively, applying what you learn with your teacher.

Build your memorisation, āyah by āyah, through guided lessons, achievable targets and a consistent routine at home.

Memorising is the beginning of keeping. Strengthen your recall, connect the passages and return to what you have learnt through disciplined revision.

Ijāzah
After completing and strengthening your ḥifẓ, you may choose to seek advanced study and ijāzah. This is an end goal, not a class offered in the first intake. We aim to have a pathway ready from 2028 for the first suitably prepared students, subject to teaching arrangements.

three years from today?
Approximately three years is a working target for ḥifẓ. Individual completion times vary with your starting point, attendance, practice and revision. Your teacher will set an indicative date after assessment.

Yes. Beginners are welcome. Your teaching will reflect your current reading ability and memorisation, with foundations and tajwīd taught progressively.
Brothers and sisters aged 16 and over, in separate classes at Al Furqan Centre, Leicester. Whether you are starting from the basics or already memorising, tell us where you are in your application.
No. Ijāzah is a future advanced option, not part of the first intake. We aim to offer a pathway from 2028 for the first students ready for it, subject to teaching arrangements. A qualified teacher determines the requirements and whether a student is ready.
Around three years is a working average for full memorisation, not a guarantee. After admission, your teacher assesses your starting point and gives you an individual indicative completion date. Your pace depends on attendance, practice and revision.
Sisters’ tuition is £360 for two days a week (£390 including registration). Brothers’ tuition is £540 for four days a week (£570 including registration). Pay tuition once, in three instalments (October, January and April), or across 11 months from September to July. Monthly tuition: sisters £32.80 first, then £32.72 × 10; brothers £49.10 first, then £49.09 × 10. The separate £30 registration covers the end-of-year celebration. There are no classes or tuition payments in August.
No. Every application is reviewed by our team. Your place is only confirmed when we send you an acceptance email. Class sizes are limited to 15 brothers and 30 sisters.
The brothers’ programme has a confirmed male teacher who holds ijāzah. Arrangements with external female teachers for the sisters’ ijāzah pathway are being developed. Further teacher details will be shared by the centre.
Advanced study of Qirāʾāt is a future progression option for suitably prepared students. It is not part of the current intake.
The programme begins on 10 October 2026. Sisters attend Saturday and Sunday, 1–3 pm. Brothers attend Saturday and Sunday, 1–3 pm, and Monday and Tuesday, 5–7 pm. There is a one-week winter break, a one-week April break, and no classes in August.
